Choosing the right photographer will help. I recommend meeting your photographer face to face (if that's possible) or virtually on Face Time. Have a chat and a coffee together. You’ll get to know each other, share your big day plans and tell them a bit about you as a couple. Don’t be scared to share your photography concerns. You’ll build rapport and before you know it you’re relaxed. You should feel comfortable in their company and happy to be around them. It’s almost a gut feeling, you just know when you’ve found the right one. A bit like husband’s!
Another way to overcome any nerves is to have an engagement photoshoot, it gives a great idea of what to expect on the day. Again this gives a chance to connect with your photographer. Feeling comfortable with them is key to feeling comfortable in front of the camera. Some of my couples said they were feeling nervous before the shoot but by the end they had fun and enjoyed it. Some of the self-consciousness around having photo’s taken is fear of the unknown. Pre-wedding sessions will disperse those fears and put you at ease for your speical day.
On your wedding day, you probably won’t notice your photographer much. You’ll be busy saying your vows, talking to your guests and caught up in the moment. For couple portraits, doing them away from friends and family in the grounds of your venue can help you feel relaxed. Having a little time together, just the two of you is priceless.
My best advice is to take a few deep breaths and have fun. Enjoy being with your soulmate on your most special of days.

Waking up on the morning of the big day
As you open your eyes on the day that should have been the big day you may get misty eyed. Hug it out, and vow to make this day special despite the circumstances.
If you have any photos from your first few dates, dig them out and reminisce! Celebrate you.
I-do o'clock
It's unavoidable, you will be very aware of time on this day. How about reading (or writing) your vows to each other. Take a selfie when you finish, and share with your friends and family on social media.
Drinks reception
Have some bubbles and canapés or a little tapas spread of all your favourite nibbles. Grazing boards are trending and people like the Holy Graze are doing home delivery. Treat yourselves with your favourite food, who doesn't like eating!
Then how about snuggling on the sofa and watching a romantic film together “Four Weddings” just one more time!
Wedding dinner
After that chilled little interlude. How about putting your “out-out” outfits on and getting all glamed up for this part?
Make place settings, have you got cute names for each other? (Snugglebunny etc!!!) Write them instead. Get the candles lit for total romance!
Have your favourite cake, any cake you like!
The reception
Grab all your wedding guests and go on Houseparty app, have a virtual wedding reception! This is how you do a wedding – lockdown style! You can still see all those faces that you will undoubtedly be missing. Get the Christmas lights out if you want to feel like the DJ is really in the room, go as disco as you want!
Perhaps you've spent ages practising your “first dance” you could still show your guests, so all your hard work doesn't go to waste. But equally you could still have an improv dance to “our song” and encourage your friends and family to grab a partner or a pet and have a twirl around the lounge! And if the best man is on screen, he could deliver his finely crafted speech after all! This can still be a celebration.
Just remember that you can get through anything, as long as you're together. When your wedding day does really finally arrive, you 'll remember this one for all the right reasons. Spending quality time with the one you love. What could be more perfect.

There's something so romantic and magical about winter weddings in December. Soft twinkling candlelight, roaring open fires and rich jewel tones. It sets the perfect warm festive atmosphere for love!
Liz and Ralph chose rustic Silchester Farm on the Berkshire/Hampshire border to celebrate their marriage. I'm always interested why couples choose their venue, and there is a local connection here. Liz and Ralph often stroll past on dog walks, how nice to be reminded of where you got married in your daily life.
Silchester Farm is an exclusive use venue complete with 16th century oak framed barn and working farm. It's nestled in the historic roman village of Silchester in the heart of the Hampshire countryside surrounded by lush green fields. It's been recently refurnished by it's new owners.
The couple are very much into the countryside and featured this theme throughout their decor and details. Table names were countryside birds and they made little felt animal favours for each guest.
Liz nailed winter glamour in a beautiful satin bridal gown with full skirt complete with faux fur jacket adorned with a vintage brooch. Her beautiful bridal bouquet featured rich red roses (a festive nod) and feather accents. Ralph wore a woollen tweed suit, ideal for a country wedding.
Top photography tip! If you have your heart set on natural daylight portraits, I recommend having your ceremony no later than 2pm as the sun sets around 3.30pm in December. It's also the perfect time of year to have a sparkler exit, the ultimate send off! I recommend extra long gold sparklers for extended burn time and a golden glow, they are available on Amazon.

As a Berkshire wedding photographer, I love nothing more than sharing with you the beautiful weddings and happy memories that I have had the pleasure of capturing over the years.
So, I wanted to start off by bringing you one of my favourite weddings from Easter last year - Hannah and Phil's spring time Combe Manor Barn Wedding!
Berkshire barn wedding in beautiful countryside
Hannah and Phil had their big day at Combe Manor Barns, which is on the outskirts of Hungerford, in the Combe valley on Easter weekend. Being a Newbury wedding photographer, I am lucky to have captured a few weddings at this venue, but this day was particularly fun to shoot!
I don’t know about you, but I think there is something special about a spring wedding, especially when the sun is shining. And boy, did the sun shine bright on their day! You would be forgiven for thinking it was the middle of summer, it was that glorious.
I started the day at Hannah’s mum’s house where the bride was getting ready with her gaggle of bridesmaids. I say gaggle, because this lucky girl had no less than 13 bridesmaids and flower girls by her side as she walked down the aisle!
Once the bridal party were ready, we hot-footed it over to Combe Manor and were fortunate enough to be able to take some stunning shots inside the manor house itself before the ceremony. Hannah looked incredible in her Anna Sorrano long sleeved lace gown, and this particular image below is testament to how fabulous she looked.
A quaint church ceremony
Hannah and Phil weren’t actually getting hitched at Combe Manor Barn, but instead at the very quaint 12th century St Swithun Church in Combe, which was a mere 50 yards away – perfect!
This gorgeous little church looked fantastic decked out in their yellow colour scheme and even in the small chapel, it felt like they had brought the sunshine inside.
After a heartfelt ceremony, guests were welcomed back to Combe Manor Barns with canapés on the lawn and treated to a champagne wall, no less! As you can imagine, that went down a storm.
Tucked away in picturesque, rolling countryside, the location of Combe Manor Barn is just made for stunning couples shots. I snuck Hannah and Phil away from their guests for a little shoot against the many perfect backdrops the venue has to offer, and I must say the pictures turned out beautifully.
Fun filled, family wedding
Hannah and Phil are such a lovely couple – they didn’t stop smiling and their day was filled with pure love and laughter. You can just tell how much they love each other which was so enjoyable to capture. They also have three gorgeous children who truly stole the show. Just look at this family shot below to see their connection....
Fast forward to a delicious wedding breakfast and some brilliant speeches including some particularly sweet words from the groom, Phil.
The party truly got started later in the evening and you could tell the guests were having the time of their lives – all thanks to the happy couple!
It’s all in the detail
Can we talk about all the gorgeous details? From the floral table centrepieces and daffodil plant pot table plan, Hannah and Phil absolutely nailed the spring theme and included so many sweet touches.
They even had an Easter cake and a table full of chocolate treats for their guests to enjoy!
Don’t I know you from somewhere?

Kristina and James were married on June 30th, with a wedding reception at the Hampden House in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.
Kristina & James’ Hampden House Wedding Day
It was a beautiful hot summer's day when my second shooter, Helen and I arrived to start capturing the couple's wedding memories. Helen went to the Red Lion in Whenover to be with the groom as he got ready, whilst I was with Kristina for bridal preparations at the House. It was such a great atmosphere with everyone getting ready for the big day!
Once the groom and groomsmen were ready, the guests set off in a vintage red London bus to St. Mary Magdalene Church for Kristina and James traditional wedding ceremony. The church dated back to the is steeped in history— there's love in the walls there!
One of the best parts of the ceremony was watching Kristina and James’ son Noah playing the part of the ring bearer. He looked very dapper in his little bow tie and waistcoat! And besides looking completely adorable, he did a great job safely delivering the rings to the vicar.
After the ceremony, it was time to head off to Hampden House, a Grade I-listed country house for the drinks reception. Guests mingled in the grounds and took in views across the idyllic Chiltern Hills. James brother Andrew provided treated the entertainment, singing classics from the Ratpack era.

Abi and Wesley's Cotswolds Autumn wedding at the Stone Barn
Abi and Wesley's special day truly embraced the season it fell in. They both choose Autumn as they love this time of year in fact their birthdays are then too. The day started with both bride and groom preparations at Cat's Abbey, the perfect Cotswold retreat with amazing views across the Windrush valley.
We were then welcomed at the historic Cotswold Stone Barn just outside Cheltenham with a big roaring fire and the warm glow of candles . There was a real atmosphere of hygge, Danish for coziness and contentment. Their loved ones looked on as they said their vows, they looked so happy!
The drinks reception gave them a chance to greet their guests, celebratory wishes were overflowing. I stole the couple away for a few moments to capture some beautiful portraits the countryside around the barn, the autumn rusts, golds and reds colours were spectacular! We had perfect blue skies and golden sunlight. Then heartfelt speeches were made.
A yummy naked cake was cut and then nightfall arrived, fire pits were lit, marshmallows were toasted and shots drunk! There was no room on the dance floor! There's only one way to give the couple an amazing send off, a sparkler exit!

Last December, in a day full of festive spirit and old school glamour, Hannah and Aaron were wed. Their Cotswolds Christmas wedding was a beautiful event, with a ceremony at St Mary's Church in Fairford and an elegant reception at Bingham Hall in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
Hannah and Aaron met at halls in their first year at university. Aaron came down to Hannah’s flat to say hello, and they hit it off straight away. Very quickly, they were spending nights watching scary films and finding they shared many of the same likes and dislikes. Hannah says she was pretty sure her mum giving Aaron all the crackling during their first family meal sweetened him up, though. Yes-- the whole lot!
Hannah and Aaron had been together for six years when he proposed. The two were on holiday in the Faroe Islands where it had rained nearly every day. There was a mountain quite close to where they were staying and Aaron suggested, despite the drizzle, they should take the hike. Hannah shared that Aaron pretty much dragged her up there in the rain and fog! The proposal was a complete surprise to her. Despite eating all the crackling and forcing her to go hiking in the rain, she said yes!
Hannah and Aaron’s Cotswolds Christmas Wedding at Bingham Hall
Their wedding day was filled with festive spirit. Every moment from their ceremony at St. Mary’s Church to their reception at Bingham Hall was infused with an old-world elegance. Hannah’s gown was especially graceful. She wore ‘Eiliyah’ by Ronald Joyce in Light Gold. Hannah knew what she wanted in a dress and this gown checked off every single box on her list. The unique colour of her gown was recommended by the lady at the bridal boutique. The warmth of the color in the lace worked perfectly—especially in the warm lighting at their Bingham Hall reception.
I asked the bride and groom what parts stood out to them the most from their wedding day. For Aaron it was the silence as he and the congregation waited for Hannah to arrive… a whole twenty minutes late! For Hannah, it was the moment when Aaron announced to the room that they were expecting! There was a ripple of shock that reverberated around the room until he clarified their new arrival was a puppy. The two welcomed their furry new arrival shortly after the New Year!
Aaron announcing they were expecting a puppy pretty much stole the show, but the whole day was filled with laughter and love. Hannah said her face hurt from laughing so much. After dancing the night away, the wedding party walked a mile from the reception to the hotel, stopping off at the local kebab shop. Even with Hannah still in her wedding dress!
Hannah and Aaron, I am thrilled to have been your wedding photographer. Your wedding day was filled with joy and it was such a pleasure to capture it. I can only hope that happiness carries you through the rest your lives together.

Matt and Kate were married in the Autumn on October 28th, with a civil ceremony and wedding reception at Hyde Barn in the picturesque Cotswolds.
Matt & Kate’s Hyde Barn Wedding Day
I started the day with Kate photographing bridal preparations before I went next door to find Matt for groom preparations in Hyde House. One of my favourite images of the day was captured during this “getting ready” time. Kate was very calm that morning and was relaxed enough that I was able to capture a genuine laughter from her when she was having fun with her bridesmaids. Real moments like that make for the best photographs.
Right from the start, I loved the atmosphere that the Hyde Barn brings to a wedding, nestled in a tranquil Cotswolds landscape with traditional architecture and an elegant, contemporary finish. The perfect back drop to their wedding memories.
The Cotswolds are one of my favourite places in the UK. All that golden stone and those rolling hills! Add autumn colours and wow! Kate added seasonal accents of pumpkins, acorns, pine cones, conkers in her decor and floristry. With the oranges and golds in the wedding party attire and you had a gorgeous autumn wedding.
Matt and Kate were also sure to include plenty of details that gave a nod to Matt’s avid love of biking. Matt brought his bike to the wedding reception and even had it in pole position during the wedding breakfast, he was dedicated! What’s more, the tables were even named after famous motorbikers.

Faye and Ben were married on August 8th, with an outdoor ceremony at the pavilion on the lawns at Lainston House. These two met at university and have seen each other through everything that has come their way since then. Now, I’m pleased to be part of their celebration of love and unity.
Faye and Ben’s Lainston House Wedding Day
It was a gorgeous summer’s day when I arrived to photograph Faye and Ben special day. I had so much beauty to work with, the stunning outdoor setting with a beautiful pastel floral palette of blush pink roses, baby blue hydrangeas, and pale mauve delphiniums. Lainston House is a charming 17th century William and Mary country mansion situated in Winchester, located in 63 acres of picturesque Hampshire parkland. With Faye in a stunning Essence of Australia dress, I was spoiled as a wedding photographer. After all, there’s nothing better than the combination of a breath-taking venue, a stunning bride, and loving attention to details. I was never at a loss for something amazing to photograph.
Of course, a wedding is about more than looking good—it’s about the people and the celebration as well. A delicious wedding breakfast was served in the Dawley Barn and It was plain to see that Faye and Ben’s friends and family were thrilled for them and ready to show it with hilarious moments like when the best man let off a confetti cannon for the first dance.
I also appreciated the nod to Ben’s Italian heritage. In Italian tradition, guests bang their glasses with spoon to encourage the bride and groom to kiss several times during the wedding breakfast. Such a fun tradition—and Faye and Ben were happy to oblige.

The spire of Holy Trinity soars high over this beautiful part of the Hampshire countryside. This church is a Victorian gem, grade II listed and funded in the 19th century by a local business man and gin distiller, William Nicholson. Liz and Richard choose this redundant church as the perfect backdrop to their DIY wedding with theme 'a day in the countryside' complete with picnic hampers and lawn games. It's perfect to put your own stamp on!

In the next few months you'll be planning the very first day of your lives together and, although it will be so much fun, it can be slightly overwhelming, too. As a wedding photographer, I know a thing or two about weddings so today I thought I'd share with you a few tips on things you should do after you get engaged. Here we go!
1. First things first: celebrate! Whether you go out with friends or have a celebratory dinner with family, make sure you take some time to celebrate this joyous occasion.
2. Set a budget. Once you've celebrated, you'll want to start planning all the beautiful details of the day, but it's important to not get swept away before sitting down to calculate a budget. After all, you don't want to fall in love with a venue or even wedding dress that's not in budget. Setting a budget can be challenging, especially if your parents haven't broached the topic yet, but figuring out numbers is the most important thing you can do in this initial period in the planning process.
3. Draft a guest list. Once you have a budget, you'll need a guest list so that you can determine how much you can spend per plate for your reception. Having a guest list will also allow you to know the size of the venue you should be looking for.
4. Research venues. Now comes the hardest part of wedding planning, in my opinion. But don't fret, because there are lots of tools to make this process easier. My favorite resource for checking out venues is Hitched. At the click of a button, you can find out tons of helpful information on each venue.
5. Think about an appropriate season. Once you have a budget and venue in mind, you'll be able determine what season would be best for your wedding. Venues have different price points during different times of the year so it's important to plan your wedding at a time when venue prices can accommodate the budget you've allocated.
6. Gather inspiration. Now that you've got your venue, head to Pinterest to create an inspiration board to start brainstorming color palettes and design elements for your wedding. This will be largely based on season and location but you can find so many unique ideas on Pinterest to fit any taste.
7. Select your bridal party! This part can be so fun! Think about how you will ask your bridal party to be a part of your big day and try to make it unique and memorable. You can invite them all out on the town or if they're not local, send them a special package in the mail with a thoughtful note.
8. Book your photographer. Out of all the vendors you'll need to book, I highly recommend booking your photographer immediately after reserving your venue. Photographers tend to get booked out a year or two in advance. Plus, you'll want to do an engagement session soon and the best person to do that with is your wedding photographer. This will allow you to get to know each other before the big day so that you're completely comfortable with their approach to posing. Another benefit to booking your photographer early on is that you'll have plenty of time to get your engagement images printed so that you can use them for your save the dates.
9. Schedule your engagement session. Now that you've got your photographer, it's time to schedule that engagement session. Pick a location that is meaningful to you or pick one that is especially picturesque!
10. Go dress shopping! At this point you've done so much work, you deserve to do something fun! Make a date with a couple of the special ladies in your life and go try on dresses. Remember to try on all types of styles because you just don't know what a dress will look like on you until you've tried it on. Countless brides have told me that they ended up going with the dress that they least expected!
11. Research wedding fairs and put a few of them on your calendar. Wedding fairs are a great place to get ideas and get to know vendors in person. Be sure to bring along something to take notes, like a cute notebook or wedding planning guide.
12. Have a date night. Remember to focus on each other during your wedding planning. It's too easy to get wrapped up in the planning so make sure you are setting time aside to spend time together talking about anything *except* wedding planning!

All weddings are special to me but Victoria and David's in particular stands out because of one simple but wonderful reason: it took place where my husband and I were married, too! It was such a pleasure to capture their wedding memories and be reminded of ours too. I'm so glad that Victoria and David found me and chose me to capture their day because it was certainly one of the most special weddings I have captured to date!
The Wedding Day
Victoria and David met during a night out in Newbury. When they were ready to tie the knot, they found me thanks to one of their wedding guests who recommended me and I'm so very thankful for that.
The ceremony took place at St. Nicholas, an ancient church dating back to the 15th century. Love is in the walls there! It's such a pretty and serene location, just perfect for a wedding. Once we were ready to start the celebrations, the guests headed over to the Garden room for Pimms and canapés. The wedding breakfast was served in the Castle Barn which was adorned with beautiful white floral arrangements and blue accents. Lots of details that worked well with the couple's theme navy and gold. The speeches were full of emotion and laughter, it was truly special. The cake was made by the bride, it was outstanding! Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating with the newlyweds. You'll see it all in the images below!
There are so many spots for great photo opportunities. For the couple's portraits, we used the Victorian summer house and secret walled garden at Wasing Park and it was just lovely. Check out the highlights of the day in the recap below!

Happy February, friends! It's hard to believe that we're already in the second month of the year, but with these cold temperatures I'm glad the winter is going by quickly so that we can get to warmer temperatures as quickly as possible! On days like today I love to re-visit warmer weather weddings that will bring me back to lovely, sunny days. Today I have the pleasure of re-visiting Lisa and John and their beautiful June wedding.
The Couple
Lisa and John met on a night out in Newbury where they were introduced by John's sister. I bet she loves taking credit for bringing these two lovebirds together - I know I would!
The Wedding Day
I had the honor of capturing Lisa and John's Tylney Hall Wedding on a gorgeous summer day in Hook last year. The sun shone so brightly that day! I'll admit, it was hot, but luckily, Lisa and John chose to have their ceremony indoors, in the baronial Tylney Suite. It was quite a stunning room with its high vaulted ceilings and a minstrels gallery. All the details made for the type of old world atmosphere that I love so much. Lisa and John have such wonderful taste, and you'll see it represented in the images below as you look through a recap of their day. I have to say, though, that my favorite part of the day was when I saw that Lisa and John had handwritten vows to read to each other during the ceremony. That's definitely not something I see very often and adds such a romantic heartfelt touch.
Lisa and John's guests continued the party at their drinks reception on the Italian Terrace and gardens. It was a magical setting for an elegant affair. Their wedding breakfast was served in the gorgeous Chestnut Suite. This wedding was so lovely, I think you'll wish you had been a guest there once you view the images below!

As a Cotswolds Wedding Photographer, I have the opportunity to shoot at one of the most scenic locations in England. The Cotswolds is one of my favourite places in the country with quintessential villages of honey-coloured stone architecture, idyllic village scenes and rolling hills. It comes as no surprise that Hannah and Aaron chose this location for their pre wedding shoot, as it makes for the perfect backdrop for a romantic afternoon stroll. Well, as romantic as it can be with a photographer in tow!
Hannah and Aaron met at University and are such a fun couple. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and sharing in their wedding day anticipation as they were still in the planning stages of their recent December wedding. I absolutely love the romance and warmth of Christmas weddings and theirs turned out spectacularly so I'm excited to share a peek at their wedding day soon right here on the blog!
During Hannah and Aaron's engagement session, we ventured into Bourton on the Water, known as the Venice of the Cotswolds. This town is as quaint as they get, and everyone always loves the charm of the village just as much as the views of River Windrush. My favorite part of the session was when I suggested that Hannah and Aaron get into the river with their wellies (only about a foot deep so no worries there!) and they happily obliged! I knew at that moment that I'd love working with them because fun, spontaneous couples are always a favourite around here. I really enjoyed getting to know this sweet couple more in a such lovely setting.

Hello again and welcome back to my blog. I know I’m only just getting into the swing of blogging but today, I’m writing right from the heart. Today’s post is my attempt to answer one of the questions that I’m asked more than any other. Why I’m a wedding photographer has, as you’ll see below, a complicated answer. Or perhaps it hasn't…
When I’m wearing my super practical hat, I can easily provide you with a list of the skills I have that led me to wedding photography. In C.V. speak; I’m a highly motivated individual who’s as happy working with others as I am alone. But as I’m a wedding photographer, I don’t have to ‘do corporate’ any more. So, instead I’ll say that I’m, quite simply, a people person.
This means that being around couples and guests at weddings makes me incredibly happy. I’m at my best when happy people surround me and I love being part of that excitement and emotion. You know that feeling of being lifted up by the people around you? That. A hundred times that.
Now it might be because I’m a people person (some might say I’m a bit nosey when it comes to others – I say I’m just very interested!) but I’m also highly visual. I know it sounds mad to say it but I’m always ‘looking’. I’m always taking in what’s around me from surroundings to faces to emotions and little details. It’s fair to say that nothing escapes my eye!
Now those are personal skills but my goodness, I’m not just a wedding photographer because of those. I’m passionate about photography, committed to developing my skills and absolutely devoted to my couples. But there’s so much more…
I’m a romantic. I believe wholeheartedly in love and I think that celebrating love is simply one of the best things in life. Being part of these amazing celebrations could never be considered work. It’s a joy. It’s a privilege. I’ve found that thing I can’t live without and I truly believe it’s my vocation.
I also adore the ‘pretty’ of weddings. Who isn’t inspired when they’re surrounded by beautiful things in fantastic locations? If that doesn’t draw your best work out of you then I really don’t know what will. On wedding days, I’m often found lingering alongside flower arrangements and carefully crafted detail because I’m quite often in awe. I appreciate the passion that’s been poured into everything and I want to capture it forever.
And now I think I’m about to answer why I’m a wedding photographer. You see, when I was younger, I had, like so many of you I’m sure, a box of old family photos. These curling, treasured images held memories. They showed me people and places that I’d never know or would never meet again. Every now and again, when I needed them, I could escape to be with these people and step right into the past.
These photographs became my memories too and there’s a little corner of my heart for each and every one of them.
You see, to me, that’s what makes photography so special. It’s a way of creating memories that you’ll have for the rest of your life. Every time you need to be transported back to your brilliant, life-changing wedding day, you just need your wedding photos. Your images will capture for all time people, places and special moments. These can never be taken away from you and you’ll be able to pass your memories on to those that come after you with your photographs.
Memories are precious, special moments slip through our hands all too easily. Being able to capture them for you before they’re lost is why I’m a wedding photographer. I want your wedding day to be with you forever. I want anyone looking at your wedding photos in years to come to feel as if they know you.
I want your wedding photography to be you. Always.

Well hello there and welcome to my blog! I’m kick-starting 2017 by featuring one of my favourite real weddings from 2016 and I’m so excited to share it with you. As a Berkshire wedding photographer, I’m incredibly lucky because I’m literally surrounded by amazing wedding venues. This wedding took place at Rushall Manor Farm, which is, dare I say it, one of Berkshire’s hidden gems. As you’ll see, it’s a country wedding with a difference…
Firstly, let me just explain why I love Rushall Manor Farm so much. Well, it’s a working organic farm and trust me when I say it really works! The brilliant John Simonds Trust operates from Rushall and their aim is to educate people about farming and the countryside. So, weddings here in the atmospheric Black Barn are always individual and you’ll have oodles of opportunities to make you wedding day your own. As you can imagine, when it comes to wedding photography that makes me very happy indeed!
The wonderful Bryony and James absolutely put their own stamp on their wedding day. I loved the mix of traditional country elements and quirky touches that really showed their personalities. James is a huge fan of 007 and there were plenty of Bond flourishes throughout the day including a very special Aston Martin. It’s great to see how successfully you can bring a number of elements into your wedding theme so there’s plenty of personality on show.
Bryony and James made most of their wedding decorations themselves and all the details worked perfectly with their barn wedding. From creating the tin cans, hand-painted with Annie Sloan paint that held the dainty wildflowers and making sweet jam jar favours to stitching the super cute floral cushions, the day was full of touches that spoke volumes about this fabulous couple.
As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a barn and in the case of this Berkshire barn wedding, it took two fantastic families! A friend took on the role of florist (including a very early morning trip to Covent Garden Flower market!) and their parents even made those delicious wedding cakes. I know that Bryony and James’ guests really appreciated all of the effort that had gone into the day.
The guests also appreciated the mouthwatering afternoon tea that they were served. After Pimms and elderflower cordial on arrival, a traditional afternoon tea, including tempting sandwiches and fresh scones, was served on pretty cake stands and vintage china. That wasn’t all because even as everyone was enjoying their tea, a hog roast was already cooking away, ready for the evening celebrations. Heaven!
However, if there’s one part of the day that I’ll always remember, it has to be the bride and groom portraits. We escaped into the countryside and woodlands that surround Rushall Manor Farm to capture some very special photographs indeed. It was such a delight to share the day with this beautiful couple – even the Queen made an appearance!
